Homosexuality in Cross-Cultural Perspective

In the American debate about sexuality, homosexuality is portrayed as an aberrance of choice by one side and a natural outcome biology other, sometimes with nuanced stances in between. Both sides tend to take for granted that thing they are talking exists, some argue it unitary phenomenon found across cultures through time. I question whether or not English concept can serve scientific category cross-cultural comparison. Similar practices identified culture area reveal characteristics same-sex behavior belief vary significantly, thus deconstructing narratives. Those arguing more traditional perspective have too easily accepted terms debate. Perhaps time step back broader view includes experiences narratives full range world’s many Christianities.
